The Waterways Trust 10 years of enriching people's lives through waterways

The Floating Gallery

In 2006 and 2007 The Waterways Trust Scotland, in association with Impact Arts, helped to raise the profile of Scottish artists by opening a 'floating gallery' aboard narrowboat Princess Mary berthed at The Falkirk Wheel.

Through the initiative 15 new and up-and-coming artists had the chance to showcase their work in a unique and inspiring venue and members of the public who perhaps would not necessarily consider visiting a gallery or museum also had the opportunity to experience work produced by the country's artists.

Through the programme, the artists were also able to develop their own practise, learn business skills and develop community projects.

Funder: The Floating Gallery was supported by British Waterways Scotland.
