Family Festive Cheer Afloat at Gloucester Docks Waterways Museum
The Christmas season is underway so come and join in the fun at The Waterways Museum Gloucester Docks where there is an exciting programme of events on offer to get you in the festive mood and provide a great day out for all the family.
Wrap up warm and join in the merry cheer onboard Santa’s floating grotto on the 12, 13 or 19–24 December, at 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm or 3pm, with a cruise along the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal, the chance to meet Father Christmas afloat and receive a personalised gift from the jolly man himself. Adults can enjoy a refreshing mulled wine, tea or coffee with a delicious mince pie and there is a selection of cold drinks and tasty Christmas biscuits for children. Round of your visit with a trip into the museum, a great chance to see and play with the vibrant, interactive displays, just the thing for children to have fun and discover the waterways. There will be a chance to get creative with a hands-on Christmas craft workshop. Children can then take their creations home with them or give to someone as a special present. The Waterways Museum, which charts the history of the nation’s inland waterways, is set in the heart of Gloucester’s historic docks. With new and exciting displays, especially designed to engage children, its location next to the new Gloucester Quays shopping outlet provides a perfect day for all the family to enjoy. Entry for Santa’s cruises is £9 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance and it is advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.
