Oxford Canals
We want the Oxford Canal to be
- a tourist attraction
- an environmental resource
- a focus for the community
- a valuable resource which can contribute to economic life in
the city
To do this, we've brought together 14 organisations to
help create a sustainable future for the stretch of the Oxford
Canal which runs through the city.
Together we are developing a shared vision and cohesive plan so
we can realise the true potential of this wonderful waterway.
Our first achievement was creating a masterplan setting out the
vision. In September the partnership held a canal festival to raise
awareness of the waterway and give people living in the area the
opportunity to view and comment on the masterplan.
