Rochdale Canal Festival

Canals are local to people and so easily accessible. The
Rochdale Canal Festival gave people the chance to see the many ways
in which canals and the surrounding environment can be used to
improve your lifestyle. Alan Keane, U
Project

The fifth annual Rochdale Canal Festival took place
from 13th-28th August 2011.
Canoe taster sessions, underground walks, a masquerade,
wild food forages, a lantern parade and guided bike rides helped
people in Calderdale, Rochdale, Oldham and Manchester discover and
enjoy the historic canal.
The two-week long festival culminated with a Festival Finale at
Failsworth Basin, Oldham on 28th August.
