Ellesmere Port

Set in the historic docks at Ellesmere Port, the National Waterways Museum brings together a unique fleet of historic boats, collections and archives to tell the story of Britain's inland canal network.

With its stunning location on the banks of the Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal, extensive in-door displays, boat trips and historic buildings, the Museum is a great day out.

Heritage Boatyard

Through our Heritage Boatyard we are passing on vital heritage skills to a new generation of young people.

Youth Activity Centre

The museum is also home to a dynamic youth activity centre. Through a range of projects such as arts, drama, comedy and outdoor pursuits, we are attracting the next generation to our canals and the museum.

For information about the youth activity centre contact Gaynor La Rocca.

Informal Learning Project

In partnership with West Cheshire College, we have helped people from Ellesmere Port discover and develop a host of new skills and interests through the Learning is Fun project.
