Droitwich Canal Restoration

Thank you for all your support. We raised £476,000 towards this £11million restoration programme which has created:

  • a 21-mile canal loop and linear park - the only loop in Europe that can be completed in a long weekend
  • new walking and cycling routes, picnic sites
  • play areas and fishing spots
  • new habitats for wildlife including a 2 hectare reed bed

as well as conseerving 40 heritage structures.

Some of the projects we have helped happen as part of the scheme include:

  • Restoration of the Barge Lock
  • Salt to Severn environmental trail
  • Community mind map and play
  • Hanbury Locks play area
  • Wych Barge interpretation point
  • Netherwich Tunnel arts installation
