Greater Manchester Bat Group

The Greater Manchester Bat Group used a grant from The Waterways Trust's Small Grants Scheme for their Daubenton's bat recovery programme on Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Uppermill Tameside.

The grant helped the group purchase bat boxes and detectors. The group has also conducted further surveys of the length of the canal as part of the National Bat Monitoring Programme which aims to raise the profile of bats, canals and biodiversity.

Greater Manchester Bat Group provide information to the public and run a bat line for grounded and injured bats as well as leading bat walks.
