Composting toilet, Kings Lock (River Thames)

A grant from The Waterways Trust's Small Grants Scheme has been used to install an environmentally sustainable composting toilet on Kings Lock Island in the River Thames.

Popular with Thames Path walkers, the local community and boaters on the Thames and the lower Oxford Canal, this island site has no water, making a standard flushing loo impracticable. The installation of a composting toilet provides a much needed facility as well as promoting the importance of sustainability.
