Volunteer - Antony

Green Action volunteer AntonyName: Antony

Volunteering on: Green Action

Story: One of Green Action's first volunteers in October 2009, during the twelve-week long programme, Antony helped create an outdoor classroom in the grounds of the Action Outdoors Centre in Falkirk.

Antony returned to volunteer with the programme in 2010. During this spell, he built a wooden stairway at the centre and helped create a new path at The Falkirk Wheel nature trail.

Now: Antony is now a Volunteer Officer with BTCV Scotland, helping BTCV staff to deliver the Green Action programme to the latest conservation recruits.

Antony says: "The big difference coming back to Green Action this time is that I have more responsibilities.  It's great to be invited to be a Volunteer Officer for BTCV and help other people.  I'm really grateful for the chance and my mum is dead chuffed! As for the future, I'd like to get a job doing this kind of work full-time but there isn't much going.  I've done a lot with Green Action and I'll be able to put my new role on my CV too which will help."
