Historic Environment
This award will be given to project that demonstrates excellence
in interpreting, restoring and conserving the character and local
distinctiveness of inland waterways and their associated
structures, including, where appropriate, the integration of new
elements in a historic context.
Canalside buildings, waterway structures and the people who have
lived and worked on the waterway over the years all make up the
historic environment. Projects that have brought them and their
stories to life in a sustainable and modern way are also eligible
to enter.
